FAQ

FAQ

Why is your phone number not listed on the website?

Our number isn’t listed on the site due to outside companies using bots to collect information off our site to use it to spam our phone lines.

Why do I have to fill out the contact form in order to contact you with a question?

Again, if we put a simple link to our email, outside bots will collect our email and sell it to companies to spam us. Using the contact form prevents spam.

Why do I have to make an appointment to have the frame of my pistol done?

Orlando Cerakote is in the process of obtaining our FFL and ATF laws state that the owner of the firearm MUST be present while ANY finish is applied to ANY part of the firearm that is serialized.

Why can I leave my slide, stock, grips, mags or accessories but NOT my frame?

Once again, Orlando Cerakote is in the process of obtaining our FFL and ATF laws allow for us to coat any NON-SERIALIZED parts without the owner being present.

Why isn’t your address listed on your website?

In-order to prevent walk-ins and ensure a one-on-one experience with our clients. we prefer to speak to our clients first and set them up with an appointment to come to the shop. Once we have our FFL we will be able to accept shipments. Until then, enjoy the one-on-one experience.

Will Cerakote affect the function of my firearm?

Cerakote is a very thin medium. When applied, it’s only 1 or 2 millimeters and will not affect most firearms. However, in cases such as 1911′s or other firearms with tight slide-to-frame ratios, some smoothing may be required to re-mate the frame to the slide. Any good gunsmith will be able to accomplish this task.

Why don’t you offer camouflage patterns yet?

Camouflage patterns are very labor and time-intensive. We have to coat the gun three times and cure it three times as well. Right now, being a smaller operation and working closely with our clients, it’s not cost-effective to take up the time doing one firearm when we can do two guns in the same amount of time. Once we get bigger and have more staff, we will start doing camouflage patterns.

What parts CAN we mail to you for coating?

ONLY Slides and accessories. You MUST email us first with what you want done to ensure the parts you are about to mail us are legal.

Why would you ever coat a beautiful 1911 in Prison Pink?

We asked our client the same thing and it’s just what his wife wanted and we are ok with that!

What forms of payment do you accept?

Once you email us, we set up a time for your appointment to come to the shop and have your firearm coated. Payment is expected before the work is done. We take cash or credit cards.

Can I bring my firearm in and have your gunsmith take it apart before coating?

No, we do not have a full time gunsmith on staff. In order to keep our cost and yours lower, we ask that the firearm come to the shop COMPLETLEY disassembled!

Will you hook me up with killer discounts if I promote Orlando Cerakote with my business?

AHHH YEA! We are always looking for others to help spread the word about us. If you own a business or are the manager / decision maker of a gun shop, shooting range, or any other business you might think may be able to spread the word, shoot us an email and we will work something out.

I have a question that you didn’t answer here, how can I get it answered?

Fill out the contact us form and ask your question! If we like it, we will add it to the FAQ’s.
